Stay in a Pub, an innovative platform that makes it easy to book overnight stays in pubs, with over 1,700 locations across the UK, needed to move away from the developers who had built their site to a different development team for ongoing support. The original agency was going out of business and the clock was ticking to understand and takeover the code and infrastructure whilst the technical contacts were still available.
Working alongside Stay in a Pub’s existing agency in South Africa, we began work performing a code and documentation review and Bedrock conversion to improve the quality of the code and lay the foundation for superior future development which put us in a position to take over the ongoing support of the site, its integrations and ElasticSearch powered search system. A number of relationships with third party teams were reestablished including a third party booking engine and external SEO agency.
Our work included the takeover of a complicated AWS deployment. It turned out that the architects were already long gone and documentation was sparse. We worked through the setup to establish how the infrastructure worked, making improvements for an atomic deployment system.
