Digital technologies we use come from a variety of sources and are applicable across the many services and solutions we offer.
A note on terminology: “Front End” (otherwise known as “Client Side”) relates to all the bits of work that the user sees, normally occurring within the browser or app, whilst “Back End” means the “Server Side” technologies that drive the content and functionality of the application or website. Often this includes database technologies to dynamically build the content of pages or load stored objects.
A combination of server environment, front-end, back-end and database technologies is generally called a “stack”, e.g. LAMP (Linux – the Operating System (OS), Apache – the web server, MySQL – the database server, PHP – the scripting language).
Sometimes we’re involved in projects that move a site or application from one technology to another – a migration.
